Max Hartley is a friend of mine. If you know him you know you know that he has been busy at school in Philadelphia for the last four years. For those of you who dont know him, he doesnt seem like your typical "college kid". Max has created some of the wildest art pieces that i have ever seen and he is fresh out of school. Max is a super modest, humble, welcoming person and i am glad to have met him some years ago. We had an art show up at Mesh Skatepark to display all of his hard work and the hard work payed off. For years iv been pedaling by a park just up the road from my parents house for close to ten years and never took the time to venture in very far but the other day i gave it a chance and was blown away. The place was full mostly with religious art, which i am not a big fan of, but i could tell that everything there represented a good amount of time and effort on someones part. It all looked amazing as well so that was a plus! enjoy the pictures, or not.

So, when i was younger(middle school) the neighborhood kids and i knew about an abandoned water treatment plant hidden in the woods on the edge of town. It was a place we went to back in the day to play man hunt and break shit and just have fun away from any place that we could get into trouble. We dubbed the place Jurassic Park. On route to my parents house i pass the woods that are home to Jurassic Park and always tell myself that i am going to go back and snap some photos. So, today i got a wild hair up my ass and headed into the woods. Things have changed for sure. The city has a huge chain link fence around the place and the old creek we used to cross is full of water now. Once i got in i found that the place is extremely overgrown and has become a hot spot for graffiti and mischief. Yep, we had our good times and even though different things have happened there i am glad to see that a new generation was able to enjoy our old stomping ground. Not sure how much longer the place might be there so i made a point to get as many pictures as i could. I will probably post more photos tomorrow.

So, i was in my room the other night and i thought i was the only one home....Then i heard a power saw. A power saw! When i came out Jon, Max and Aaron had cut the kitchen counter off of the wall and set it up against the wall. They skated it until Kyle Painter ate shit into it so hard that it broke in half. I smashed my head into the lights in the kitchen and then got smart enough to gram by camera. The folding table that Allen Twin broke in half with his back got set up in the laundry room and worked really well. These two shots are of Max Hartley and Jon Georgens.

So, tonight the Orlando Magic won the eastern conference play offs and are now going on to play the Lakers to see who the best professional basketball team in north america is. This has brought alot of publicity to our city but has the publicity and hype of our local basketball team finally doing well after over ten years of nobody cares to justify funding a new arena? I have watched a good amount of the playoff games and it seemed as if our current amway arena does the job. The other night i was riding around and wondered by this mess. I have been told that this is our new arena for the magic to play inside of. This does not look bigger than our current arena... it, in fact, looks smaller. If you travel 1/4 of a mile in one direction of this site you hit the booming downtown orlando area with bars and small venues as far as the eye can see. but, if you travel 1/4 mile in the opposite direction you hit a neighborhood that looks like it could use orlandos money in a more useful way. I strongly agree with anyone who feels that a new place for the Orlando Magic to play is an extreme waste of Orlando's money.

So, the other day the "casselberry crew" rolled over to an undisclosed location in sanford to party. This dude named Curtis invited Gut Ruckus to come over and play a show in his living room. He failed to mention that it was his moms house and she was out of town.... When we arrived spencer was jammin on the one and showing up all of the other djs and mcs in the house. My boss, Chad DeGroot drove my co-workers Dave McDermott, Greg Smee, and myself to Tampa last week Where we met up with Matt Coplon.... Matt is a good friend of mine who happens to lead a double life between singing for one of my favorite bands called Light Yourself on Fire(look them up on myspace) and working as the top dog keeping things together at Profile Racing. I brought the camera and took a couple of photos and these were some of my favorites.

In the past year things in my life have changed drastically. My fathers health has rendered him unable to work where he has been working for the past 17 years. After being a retail store manager for over 35 years he is retired and is able to enjoy life a little more. With me taking a break from school and moving out last year i have had little time between riding bikes and working over 40 hours each week. Two weeks ago my father and i took a trip to cordel Georgia for an electric r/c show and fly. We stayed with his friend Charlie(the guy who sold me his boss old ss suburban). I stayed in Atlanta for two days and hung out with my dad. It was good to spend some time with him. Funny, i had to talk him out of buying a nitrous kit for his corvette when we stopped in summit racing just outside of Atlanta.... The guy is my hero and thought i would post some pics from the weekend.

sooo, my newer computer is having problems with the internet browser. last night was really wild. the zeal distro team to party and take all of floridas women. downtown orlando got wrecked my GL and myself, i am pretty sure GL is still 21 years old and he could still whip Gary Ellis' ass on and off of the track. Holy shit, he told me last night that he named the S&M Holmes. I believe it.
Tonight is sure to be wild, when i left for work this morning the front porch had already been wrecked in preparation for the party/show tonight. All of the new Deluxe frames and bars came into underground distro today so i snagged a frame for myself and one in every color and size for the shop along with all colors and sized in the bars. they are sick..... they released a frame that is British racing green and has vbrake mounts. there are only ten of them and mesh has all ten. holy shit. limited as fuck frame and mesh is the only place in the u.s. to get them. sweeeeeet.

Today is the supposed anniversary of this "jesus christ" coming back to life to do something or other. I dont really care much. It pisses me off that people celebrate this bogus holiday and believe that god and jesus will save them when they die...... If some guy walked up to a christian person and told them that they were the second coming of christ they would call the police and demand that the "crazy" person be put in jail. If you believe in something like jesus and god you may as well pray to the ideals of a harry potter book. While everyone was at home eating easter dinner with their families Dave and I sat at work all day, because we dont care. I thought i might have captured Jesus in a picture, until i got a little closer and realized that it was just Aaron not needing chrystal meth.

TRAIL JAM UPDATE!

So, as many of you know, the jam happened on sunday and despite the 70% chance of rain the weatherman predicted we didnt see a drop. The jam went well. Nobody got seriously injured, we didnt get any bikes stolen, and nobody got lit on fire..... Wait! Light Yourself on Fire played a set in the living room and Colt did infact light himself on fire. Hmmmm, good idea? Well, the band said that if the van flipped over on the way home that they would die happy. I was glad to hear those guys had a good time. I was having a blast all day and was siked to see LYOF, who happens to be one of my favorite bands, but was suprised at how good Millions was. Their CD was amazing and has been the only thing i have listened to since the jam.
People flocked to our driveway from far and wide turning the enterance to the house into a start gate. The cool crew from tampa/st.pete rolled in, the street one dudes drove up from naples; hell, the sparkys crew made it to have a little fun as well. There is coverage of the jam up everywhere weather it is photos taken by cottle, greg, and bryce or video by brett from vitalbmx or MR. WELCOME himself, Bobby V. Casselberry Trail Jam!

In may of last year we took a chance with the MANIA jam and raised some money. Where that money went? i will never know, it was given to aarons dad. This year we are in total control of all of the finances regarding the house. If you live anywhere in florida or areas surrounding you heard stories and saw pictures of the jam last year. Gainesville, thanks for nothing. Aaron, Greg, Zack, and i ventured to Gainesville last week to drop off Zack so he could start his adventure across america and decided to bring our bikes to ride a little...... After ten minutes of riding the first spot at U.F. some dickhead security gaurd thought it was a good idea to slam Aaron on his face. Needless to say aaron was too positive to fight back. HAHA, seriously though, Aaron kept his cool and is filing a complaint with the school. Greg ran and had Gainesville police scowering the city for him. He wasnt that hard to find..... you know, short skinny guy with Johnny Thunders hair and a tight puertorico jersey on. When we found where he was hiding we decided to go regroup at the car. But, just like any time i decide to park my car somewhere it got towed. Fuck Superior towing company in Gainesville florida. A bunch of drunk red-necks with no teeth had my car and we had to pay them $75 to tow my car three miles.... No big deal, we had fun. NOT. Good luck to Zack, who as of today made it to Jacksonville. Zack, if you read this, send me some pics from the road while you are gone. We did, however, find the Banned crew's dream spot. A handrail with a pole jam on the end. Banned trip to Gainesville in the works now.

Degroot is back in the skatepark game. Giving the bike side of MESH a bit of an overdue facelift. Other than the new step-up edition, biult for baco-a-go-go, the park has been getting a little boring. Chad has spiced the place up lately, biulding something new every week while the park is closed. The newest edition is a box step up jump. Moffett and TJ both said it was pretty good. So come check it out unless you are a shitty loser or just "one scary looken dude". With this update being somewhat boring ill throw in two good trail photos. shout out to my boy Nelson in the BeastMode crew and Mulville who always has a smile on his face. First off, as i started typing the clock rolled over to 11:34; no joke. Anyway, Old Bryce survived another year of tris and tribs and we all reaped the benifits. Yep, Bruce and mama Toole whipped up quite the little get together. Hell, Bryce was so excited he did a little dancin. A party for a Toole would have a good turn out......... Right??? Well, if you must know the star of pirates and the carribean was there along with those dudes from the movie "high and higher"...... or is it "high and higher-er"? Once the the cake was tapped, the party moved downtown and into the bars....... bars that serve alchohol to guys with mustaches. Boy i tell you what, boozin sure does make people happy. It also leads to the viewing of some - really - odd - couples. EEH, whatever makes you happy in the morning i guess?? haha. Everyone had fun except for two tip lickers that tried to fight me for taking their pictures. Luckily he missed me when he swung and only hit Dan and Sven.. St. Pattys day sure was an interesting one for a sober guy i tell you what. I hope your b-day was QUEPASA bryce! I look forward to next year broski.

Today i biult a wheel in fourteen minutes for no reason. Just to see if i could beat the records set by the douches of the come up. I came a little short but im sure with a little work i can be equally as big of a douch as the guy at albes and the guy at proper. Chad just biult a new bank to barrier on the skate side of the skatepark. I have smashed my crotch into it more times than i have had my pegs on the top of it but im sure some people will thoroughly enjoy it. My plans for the rest of the day include walking back and forth from register to register to be some twelve year old kids bitch for a slushee. Matt Stevens makes the day go by a little faster than normal, hand feeding me fries all afternoon.

Today Aaron, Greg, and myself packed up to drive to Ocala to ride some trails. We hit the road with a tag along car behind that contained four bikes, a guy from connecticut, a guy from massachusets, a guy from vegas, and a guy from fuckin sweden. Funny how people from such far places can come together purely by conicidancial events like riding bmx. Anyhow, the drive took a whopping three hours but the trails were good and fun was had. Yep, we fucked shit up. Santos now has a plastic peg sitting in the bushes somewhere, a huge nose case mark in the side of a burm, and a big forehead mark in front of the wall ride. Go us! We scouted this new squat house. It was really rad. A house sat on the side of the road not too far from the trails that had obviously burned down most of the way. It was sad to see the place inside and out, knowing that a family had everything they owned inside when it burned. Although it had burned down a long time before we were there i still felt like something that was just a pit stop in our day was someones entire life. Things happen though, it was Ocala.... could have been a meth house.

It comes natural to some, for the others......... its a different story.

So, i recently decided to jump on the blog train. Eventhough EVERY PERSON I KNOW has a blog my intent is not to update the world on the status of bmx or music or anything for that matter. I have a camera that i like to take pictures with and have no other real way to share pictures with people. If you dont know me then you should know that i live in casselberry florida in a house with the ofspring of floridas finest, two beautiful couples, and some bmx jump. Things around here are certainly interesting what with car parties and dreadlock rastas roaming wild. This week was interesting, fox was in town filming a new reality show titled "when street riders go trails". It is sure to be QUEPASA brother......
